Dark Toast ~ Poetry Sentences


The month of April delivers muddy boots and knees that can predict the weather.


Pain leaves us with memories rewriting sunny days into an American Horror Story.


A book takes me away from dirty dishes that remind me dinner could have used a better cook.

  4. These are really so hard to do... love the last one especially. Do you think the 17 syllable count (or not) matters? Most modern haiku seem to have done away with it, in any case.

  6. I really love the way this trio works separately and as a unit. Thoughts brew into a story--each ingredient holding on to its own taste, and creating something new as a collective.

    The middle sentence left me sighing...
